I recorded some data about memory used by the system which show signs of memory leaks, with Unlegacy and other ROMs.

I took the data from Developer Options -> Running services , from the System line as shown in the screenshot attached. The number I recorded (in MB) is the highest number shown for at least 3s, in an interval of at least 30s, to avoid random spikes.
After a first set taken from a full system with Slim7 1.7 I tested different versions of Unlegacy and ZZ Tuna ( ) withouth GApps, without rooting, and with a set of only 5-7 apps installed from fixed apks. Every installation was done with TWRP 3.1.1-1 ( ), the procedure was to do a factory reset, then wipe System partiton, install the ROM and reboot. Then I installed the apks (listed in the following data sheet) with adb.

Data here:

The data shows a stable use of RAM for ROMs based on Marshmallow and a growing usage or RAM by the System for ROMs based on Nougat, with or without CMA (I didn't check dmesg but the experimental build 20171108180328 had ~890MB of total RAM available, so I assumed it is without CMA).

There were no apps in Recents while taking the data and the phone wasn't connected to power or PC.

I opened this issue. I cannot login anymore here with GitHub OAuth, so I cannot close this bug. The workaround to it was merged with commit b06100a39f19522c47f3ab7fc270368fa97d52e3 , thanks.
